Sarasota based Stroop Design & Construction, Inc. was started in 2002 and incorporated on January 20, 2004. The two principals and owners of the firm are Edward C. Stroop III, President and Lesa M. Stroop, Vice-President. For the last 14 years SDCI has concentrated on the Design/Build Construction Management delivery method for the benefit of its residential, commercial, church facilities and industrial clients. As a Florida Certified General Contractor and a registered Architect (Texas non-active), Edward Stroop understands all aspects of what goes into a successful project. Over the last 36 years, his personal capabilities and experience of delivering projects from design conception to construction completion are unsurpassed. Having vast experience in both Architecture and Construction, he understands the processes of design and contract documents as well the processes and systems of building construction. Edward has designed and constructed many distinctive projects in both Texas and Florida while gaining credibility as one of the leading providers of Construction Management and Design/Build projects. These projects range from residential communities, residential renovations, commercial projects, clubhouse facilities, industrial projects, Churches, medical office buildings, hospitals, office buildings and educational facilities. Edward Stroop has been a registered Architect (Texas - #13008 non-active) since 1989 and is a Florida Certified General Contractor- CGC1514781 and a Florida Certified Roofing Contractor –CCC1329387. Edward has worked in the City of Sarasota, Sarasota County, Manatee County and the City of Bradenton for the past 14 years and understands the local permitting requirements and processes.
Stroop Design & Construction, Inc. has degreed, experienced personnel in Construction Management. Lesa Stroop is a Texas A&M graduate with a degree in Environmental Design. Lesa is well versed in all aspects of Design and Project Management. Lesa’s experience is varied as she is a quality designer and has coordinated most aspects of the construction process including the finish coordination, interior design, construction process meetings, daily supervision, scheduling, sub-contractor coordination, RFI’s, IFCAs and close-out documents.

Construction Manager, Consultant
As a Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC 1514781) and a registered Architect (Texas - #13008 non-active), Edward has over 30 years experience in the construction industry. He is a graduate of the University of Florida in 1981 with a degree in Architecture. Edward has managed, directed and been financially responsible for every aspect of the Construction and Architecture trades. Edward is a hands-on owner responsible not only for the business management of the company but oversees all construction aspects of the company.
Early in his career as an Architect, his experienced developed his knowledge of what constitutes a good set of contract documents. Edward was made project manager at his first job after graduation early in 1982. After becoming a registered Architect in 1989 he studied and pursued the Design-Build methods of delivering a project to the client. Since 1992 Edward has owned his own architecture and construction company starting in Beaumont, Texas and now in Sarasota, Florida, specializing in Construction Management and Design-Build delivery. He was also a Varco Pruden distributor for several years and is an expert on pre-engineered building construction. His experience of being financially responsible for the construction and delivery of many projects gives Edward valuable insight and knowledge to the entire construction management delivery process.
Over the years Edward has been a project manager for a 240 million dollar correctional facility in Maine, project manager for many hospital and medical facilities, including the Linear Accelerator addition for Mercy Hospital in Miami, Florida and the Emergency Room addition for Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He has been the General Contractor responsible for the delivery of residential developments such as Lincoln Park and Granada Park in Sarasota, Florida. He also has expertise in medical office buildings, clubhouse facilities, veterinary hospitals and many industrial buildings and renovations.

Designer, Project Manager
Lesa Stroop is a graduate of Texas A&M University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design. Through the university, she studied the form and function of architecture in Florence, Italy.
Lesa has worked in the construction field for over 17 years. She has worked on large scale projects such as correctional facilities, stadiums and parking garages. Presently, her role is Project Manager for the various projects at Stroop Design & Construction. She has managed multiple projects such as residential renovations, residential design, day care facilities, reverse osmosis treatment plant, rum distillery, vet clinic, pet resort, several churches, educational facilities, a community center and various residences. Lesa conducts client meetings to discuss their needs, scope of work and budget. She manages the project from design development to the construction completion and coordinates all Architectural, MEP and shop drawings. She is responsible for administratively maintaining each project including certificates of liability, bonds and workers comp. Lesa schedules sub-contractors and sets time lines for completion of each phase. Sites are visited on a daily basis. Lesa is responsible for close-out documents containing all equipment manuals, guarantees, warrantees, bonds and contact information for all projects.
